Introducing the NEW Veggie Wrap Happy Meal #ad

Last Saturday I took five of the children for a trip to our local McDonald’s, to try out their new Veggie Wrap Happy Meal which launched on 3rd January and along with a new Spicy Veggie Wrap for adults will be permanent menu additions.
I have seen many comments over the past year from parents that they love going to McDonald’s, but wished there was a vegetarian option for the Happy Meal. Well, now there is! The Veggie Happy Meal consists of a Red, Pesto, Veggie goujon, shredded lettuce and tomato ketchup, all wrapped up in a small toasted tortilla wrap. The flavour of the wrap was chosen following an exclusive BritMums tasting session, where bloggers and their children helped taste and select the final Happy Meal wrap flavour.

Neva is the only vegetarian in our household, so she was keen to try the new Spicy Veggie Wrap made with two red pepper and pesto goujons, a generous dressing of spicy relish, with tomato, lettuce and red onion all wrapped in a soft, toasted tortilla, and she said that it is definitely a contender for her veggie meal of choice when visiting McDonald’s in the future.

Most evenings Asa or I usually cook a meal for the entire family, and the trips to McDonald’s used to be limited to birthdays and trips on holiday. They are definitely the best value of all the family friendly restaurants, especially for our larger than average family, but as many of you know Tyrus has quite a few issues with food, and it’s sometimes quite tricky to find anything that he will eat. As a mum it is understandably very worrying for me that he has such a limited diet. Thankfully he absolutely adores McDonald’s Chicken Nuggets. When I attended one of our local McDonald’s to learn about making Big Macs, I spoke with the manager about Tyrus and his love of Chicken Nuggets and he explained that they were all a uniform size and shape. The nuggets come in four shapes: the bell, the bow-tie, the ball and the boot. As Tyrus has a tendency to like beige coloured food and uniformity, this may go some way to explaining his love and indeed many other children on the spectrum for the nuggets.
Viggo, Eowyn and Kaide are all really good eaters and have quite a varied diet, so I was interested to see what they all thought about the new Veggie Wrap Happy Meal. They all agreed it was very tasty and they would certainly be ordering it again.

This post is part of a paid project with McDonalds UK and BritMums, promoting McDonald’s Veggie Happy meal and the new vegetarian menu items. #veggiehappymeals

  1. My kids love wraps and ketchup so I’m pretty sure they would try this. It’s lovely to see more choice on the menu. When you have a big family, I think it helps to have as much choice as possible

  2. It is great that McDonald’s have worked hard to provide a veggie happy meal for kids, and it does seem like it is going down well. Handy for vegetarian families! Thanks for sharing

  3. The food issues are tough…. good to have options that you know you can rely on. Interesting too that you have one vegetarian in the family! As for the veggie wraps, they are delicious, we loved them.
