Woodworx Jewellery Stand Kit Review

Eowyn has hundreds of items of jewellery, although i’m sure half of them belong to her older sisters!

She has various hooks and jewellery boxes, but the necklaces always seem to get tangled, so when we heard there was an actual kit to make your own jewellery stand, Eowyn was very excited. She loves art and craft and fancies herself as a DIY expert!

Eowyn couldn’t wait to get started, but I told her she had to wait until a rainy day during the holidays, so we could sit down together and make it, however I wish that I had checked to start with as the first thing she needed to do was paint all of the pieces.

The day that we sat down to do it I thought she would need my help but it turns out, she was perfectly happy painting all of the parts herself, without any mum intervention, other than putting some newspaper down on the table and giving her extra paintbrushes.

She had a great time, she copied some of the suggested patterns and then added some of her own designs.

We then had to leave them to dry for a few hours, the only thing I would advise against is adding the stickers to the poles until it is assembled as we carefully stuck them on and then they wouldn’t fit in the holes.

Later that evening Eowyn was desperate to build the jewellery stand, I began helping her, and then it was time for dinner, whilst I was preparing food, Eowyn carefully followed all of the instructions and put the entire stand together by herself!

The Woodworx Jewellery Stand Kit from Interplay is an excellent introduction into making things, with very easy instructions that Eowyn aged 6 was able to follow with ease.

Priced at £9.99 I think this represents excellent value for money and this will definitely be on the list to purchase for Eowyns friends birthdays.

Now all she has to do is decide which jewellery she is going to put on it!

  1. i would have loved this kit many years ago. My Mom was quite crafty so always encouraged us to play around with crafts. It was always very expensive for her to buy us stuff so kits like this would have been brilliant. Kids these days are so lucky! #ToyTuesday
