Project 365 Weeks 7 and 8.

I hope everyone had a great half term if it was last week, or I hope you’ve survived it, if it is only just finishing!

In true Mandi style, I was ill for most of the week, it always seems to happen during school holidays, as if my body keeps going because it has to and then when there is a moment to slow down and rest, I become ill! It usually happens when we go on a family holiday…

Anyway, I obviously missed last week and i’m not even sure if I have photos from each day, but we shall see!

Day 42 – I had the start of feeling sore and achy and my throat started to go croaky, luckily I have Eowyn to fill my phone with pics!

Day 43 Asa, Kaide and Eowyn at Burgh Castle fort. Neva and I went to the theatre Monday evening and during the interval I met up with a friend I haven’t seen in about 6 years, it was like we had never been apart, we have agreed to meet up again soon.

Day 44 Merrie has found it extremely exciting having all of the children at home, however when she is tired she used to hide under the red chair in the kitchen, but now she is bigger she has decided that under our dining room table is the perfect spot for a rest!

Day 45 Valentines Day! So we do what all super romantic couples with seven children do, I take Merrie to Pets at Home to review their Groom Room, with Neva and Lochlan! Here she is, having a good scrub in the bath!

Day 46 Merrie has been sent lots of lovely subscription boxes and treats to review, unfortunately it is extremely difficult to get Merrie to sit still! This one is about the best I could do before she chewed the box to pieces! But she is enjoying the contents too.

Day 47 I cheated slightly as I couldn’t find any photos I had taken, but Xene is currently working on making scale model production sets, its very strange not to have Xene home during half term, so I thought I would include one of her photos to be part of the week!

Day 48 Knowing how ill I had been this week, one of my good friends texted and asked if Kaide and Eowyn would like to come for a sleepover, they were both very excited and she sent over this photo of them all enjoying pizza!

Day 49 Viggo was a little lost without Kaide and Eowyn on Sunday morning, so he spent some quality time with Merrie!

Day 50 Everyone back in school today, apart from Lochlan because college had a PD day, Merrie was very lost without them all and kept sitting by the door waiting for them all to come home!

Day 51 Neva and I went along to the theatre for the opening night of Ruth Rendell’s Gallowglass, it was very different to The Band which we had seen previously, but it was very good, in a dark, creepy, kidnapping way!

Day 52 Today on our morning walk to the beach it was very cold and wet, when we walked down from the clifftop we were the only ones on the beach. I threw Merrie a ball, which she batted with her paw into the sea and refused to retrieve it, at least it will make another dog’s day! She had a play with the gulls on the beach who kept flying a little way and then landing again, needless to say by the end of the walk she was totally worn out!

Day 53 I had Kaides first parents evening at high school tonight, every teacher that I spoke with called him a little superstar, and his grades are excellent in all subjects, he is pleasant, polite and always helps anyone who is struggling, which is lovely to hear.

Day 54 Tyrus has just had his mid year review for his ehcp, he is making good progress, but he still needs lots of adult supervision and encouragement, which isn’t easy within a mainstream classroom of 25+ children. I am now on the task of researching what other options we have going forward. He is happy in school and his classmates are amazing with him, but it seems the right time to start thinking about the next steps.

Day 55 Today I had the fun task of catching up on all of the ironing, as I had felt far too ill to do it during the half term and the children are nearly out of ironed school clothes, Viggo was desperate to try out a new game on the wiiu and Neva had homework to do, so Asa, Lochlan, Kaide, Eowyn and Tyrus took Merrie to the woods for a walk, although this was the closest they got to everyone looking at the camera!

And there we have it all caught up! I hope you’ve all had a great two weeks

  1. Hope you’re feeling better! Love the photo of Viggo with Merrie. I never iron any clothes! Well done to Kaide for the parents’ evening. We had my daughter’s first secondary school parents’ evening this week too and it was very good.

  2. How disappointing to be unwell during holidays, but then it’s never a good time to be poorly. Lovely selfie by Eowyn. Love Viggo and Merrie’s relaxing photo. The castle fort looks impressive. I wish we could have daily walks by the sea, that is so wonderful.
