#Blogtober17 Day 26- Zoo

October 26, 2017Mandi Morrison
So, the final day of the 26 letters of the alphabet, then onto the final 5 days of Social Media. I have always been a huge fan of zoos, all the children adore animals, and I have vivid memories of visiting Colchester Zoo when I was small, although it has certainly changed a lot since then, today here are my top 5 Favourite animals.
1. Giraffes.
I have always loved giraffes, they look so regal and they are elegant.
2. Elephants.
Ever since I was small and we used to drive past Colchester Zoo, I used to look for the elephants poking their trunks out as we passed by. The last time we went to the zoo, I fed the elephants and they are just wonderful.
3. Meerkats.
I love their pack mentality and how one is always in charge of the lookout, they are so cheeky and have the children in stitches with all of their antics.
4. Lemurs.
I love all types of lemurs, but particularly the ring tailed ones, nothing to do with King Julian, I loved them before Madagascar! Banham Zoo and Africa Alive both have Lemur encounters that you can walk through and watch them up close, which the children adore.
and finally
5. Penguins
Both Colchester Zoo and Banham Zoo have penguins and the children spend hours watching them swiming about and waddling out for fish.
Do you have a favourite zoo animal ?

I like zoos as long as they have decent size enclosures designed for the type of animal. I love meerkats, elephants and monkeys 🙂

I love monkeys. Which is a good job seeing as I seem to have given birth to two!!

I have mixed feelings about zoos – I do enjoy seeing all the animals but then I always feel guilty about them being kept in captivity.
