#Blogtober17 Day 11 – Kitchen

Welcome to day 11, all about kitchens!
If I am totally honest, of all the K words I could come up with, this probably wasn’t the best!
Anyway, our kitchen! Is really quite big, but it’s so badly designed that I have trouble storing everything, at the moment my giant American Fridge Freezer (which is a necessity with the amount of food these kids consume) is literally as you walk in the back door. What I really want to do is move it to where the dishwasher is, which has plumbing so I can have iced water on tap and ice cubes, but if I do that I need to knock out the cupboard above and then where would I put the dishwasher, which is also necessary, as I couldn’t imagine washing up that many dishes per day!
Our dining area/ conservatory is only just wide enough for the table and 9 chairs, and the utility room is great, but it’s now been designated for Merrie, which means taking out all of the coats and wellies, and stacking the tumble dryer on top of the washing machine so she has somewhere to sleep that is away from all the pesky kids!
Unfortunately I had the great idea to rip the bathroom out and it’s still not finished yet, so that needs to be completed first, I went to the local DIY store yesterday to get some varnish for the skirting boards (in preparation  for the puppy) and I saw some paint that will ‘transform’ my kitchen cupboards, so I am seriously considering it, as it is going to be quite a while before the kitchen is on the agenda, has anyone tried it ?
I stupidly searched country kitchens and found so many amazing ones, but I guess it will just have to wait!

  1. I would so love to redesign my kitchen, but as we are in a rented house it’s a no go! Hopefully one day we’ll have our own little house and then I’m planning on going mad!! #blogtober

  2. We had our kitchen redone a few years ago. I didn’t do any major redesigning as it becomes so expensive. I do love my kitchen now, all the lower units are drawers and No cupboards so nothing hidden at the back.

  3. I would love a country style kitchen but ours is tiny & it just wouldn’t work…
You should go for it with painting the kitchen cupboards…Just try it on a little bit of one to see how it takes x

  4. We have a fairly small kitchen/dining room so country style wouldn’t look right for us! It does the job but it’s a tight squeeze getting us all in with just the 4 of us, when we have visitors it gets very tricky!

  5. When we moved house we knocked the kitchen and dining room together and I love my kitchen now – room for a massive fridge freezer was essential for us too!

  6. Having enough space in the kitchen always seems to be a problem. Ours is pretty small and we really could do with more cupboard space and worktop space. It’s rarely very clean, often untidy and my mother-in-law is always complaining about that! Still, I like it, I’ve had much worse kitchens in my life. It just needs organizing better! #Blogtober17
