#Blogtober17 Day 1 – All About Me.

Hello and welcome to #Blogtober17, I swear it only seems like last week that I was writing the posts for Blogtober16!!

I thought I would be kind and start off with an easy one, so here are some facts about me!

My name is Amanda Jane Morrison, although it’s only my mum who calls me Amanda, to everyone else i’m Mandi, my husband is Asa James Morrison, which makes it dead simple with bank accounts, what’s mine is mine and what’s his is mine !

We first met 21 years ago whilst working together behind a bar in a leisure centre(dead romantic), we worked the entire summer together and became friends, it was only after the summer season and Asa had finished  working there that I realised he actually was ‘the one’ so I upped sticks and moved to where his new job was, a real-life romance story!

The Children!

We have seven children (but I won’t be talking much about them as it’s babies tomorrow!) called Xene, Lochlan, Neva, Kaide, Eowyn, Tyrus and Viggo. We live in a lovely little village in Norfolk with our 20 chickens. I have a BA(Hons) in Childhood & Youth Studies and have worked a fair chunk of my life in childcare, however for the last year I have been working full-time as a partner in our own company, which is a lot easier for childcare and days off, when you are your own boss, and with seven children there are quite a few appointments, reading cafes, parents evenings etc so it works out much better for us.

I am the Brit Mums Arts & Culture and Gardening editor, so if you have any suitable posts, don’t forget to let me know!

I love gardening, reading, and spending time with the family, our eldest Xene went off to university two weeks ago and although she is loving it, I have found it quite difficult as I’ve been used to her being here for the last 19 years!

I have one sister who is 3 years younger than me and is a beauty therapist, we are complete chalk and cheese.

And I think that’s about all for now, you can of course have a read of my About Us Page (although it’s probably out of date as it’s on my to do list of 50,000 things!) or there’s a bit more info from my blogtober16 post.

  1. Wow, 7 kids. That’s awesome. I’d love a big family like that but I’m totally rubbish at being pregnant. So stopping at three. Can’t wait to join in with the rest of the posts

  2. I love your children’s names! Two of my children are ‘AJ’ too! Looking forward to reading the rest of your Blogtober posts, this is perfect timing for me as I was in a slump and couldn’t decide what I was doing with my blog but having the prompts has given me lots of fresh ideas x #Blogtober17

  5. I can’t believe you have 7 kids – I barely cope with 3! Totally agree that they have great names – I wanted to call my son Lochlan but my hubby wasn’t having any of it!

  13. It’s interesting to find out more about you, it must be pretty amazing to have 7 children, but so exhausting! I will try and join in with #blogtober17 as much as I can, although posting every day is impossible for me, and I’m a bit slow with commenting – I do eventually catch up though. Its good to have that extra push and motivation to write more and post more often, without trying to get everything perfect.
