#Blogtober16 Day 20 Norfolk Rocks

Today’s post is 5 Super Cool Things About the Place where you live. I live in a lovely little rural village less than 5 miles from sunny Great Yarmouth.

The Beaches

The top thing about where we live are the gorgeous sandy beaches, we have so many to choose from and we don’t spend nearly enough time there, we always joke that the people on holiday spend more time there than us!

The Broads

Not only do we have amazing beaches but we are on the edge of the Norfolk Broads, so I consider myself extremely lucky, having the best of both, we have yet to take all seven children out on a boat on the Broads, although we have done a few day trips when we only had a few children! I am unsure if I would actually like to holiday on a boat, but you never know!

The Holiday Parks

Within a couple of miles of our house we have three Parkdean Resorts holiday parks, three Haven sites and numerous other small caravan parks, so it can get pretty lively round here! On a few occasions we have booked last minute and stayed at one of the local parks, the children LOVED it, no long journeys, but with all of the entertainment, perfect!

The Golden Mile

Great Yarmouth’s famous golden mile is one of the children’s favourite places to go, with numerous arcades and various attractions, there is always something to do, although we do prefer it in the winter as there are less people and we can actually park the car!

The Peace and Quiet

With so much close by, I do love all of the hustle and bustle and the bright lights, however I am also very thankful for the lovely road that I live on, with very few houses and surrounded by horse fields (which is probably a good thing with seven noisy children!) I love waking up in the morning watching the sun rise across the fields and our noisy cockerels reminding me its time to get up!

So, I think you could say I have the best of everything, what about you ?

As a fellow Norfolk person (although a city dweller) we have some similarities! Love the broads! Hubby and I had one of our first dates at the Pirate golf on the Golden Mile! Thank you for hosting #Blogtober16

We LOVE a trip to the Norfolk coast! It is such a gorgeous part of the country and not too far for us to drive. The beaches are amazing (we usually go to Wells or Hunstanton). We have only been to Great Yarmouth once but it was an incedibly windy day so we headed into the sea life centre to get some shelter.

It sounds like you live in a perfect place….
We have a holiday park nearby and keep thinking about visiting for a couple of days just so we can say we’ve had a holiday.

When I was little Norfolk was a big part of my life. We went to Norfolk every year for holidays, Mundesley. I went sailing at Barton Broad (Nelson learnt to sail there). My father in law was born in Gorleston and my ancestral family come from Norfolk. My 3 x g grandfather was put into Norwich Castle when it was still a jail! I now live in Cardiff and norfolk is too far away, I wanted to retire to the Broads but that would be too far from my grandson. You are very lucky and you must try a boating holiday they are the best! #Blogtober16

You certainly do have it all, I’d love to live by the sea side. I’ve visited Great Yarmouth and Norfolk a few times. Unfortunately I live about as far away from the coast as you can get in England!

I’ve NEVER been to your part of the country, but I really must some day! I’d love to live by the beach – it’s a dream of ours and the kids would absolutely love it. #blogtober16
