Timeline of my day, well that shouldn’t take too long!
6.45am Radio plays some cheesy song on Heart, I jumped out of bed and put on my dressing gown, (and now I also need the landing light on because its so dark!) I go downstairs and make myself a hot tea (the only hot one I drink all day) and a slightly cooler tea for whichever of the children need to get up and a coffee for Asa. I then have five minutes peace to plan the day in my head, and remember who needs to be where, what time and what is needed to accomplish that!
7am I wake the children, and I am met by smiles or groans depending on what lies ahead!
8am When everyone is up, dressed, breakfasted, hair and teeth brushed, any last minute homework! We all leave the house. I feel I should add that I am also dressed I am not one of these that goes to school in her PJs, although I can’t always guarantee I have showered that morning!
8.15am Drop Neva at High School
8.40am Drop Kaide, Eowyn and Tyrus at Primary School
9am Take Viggo to preschool (if it’s one of his days)
9.15am Back home for a quick tidy, and answer any urgent emails.
9.50am Drop Lochlan at college.
10am – 14.30pm Multi tasking of working, caring for Viggo (if he’s not at preschool) and general housework, tag teaming with Asa and Xene depending who has meetings/deadlines that need attending to.
14.35 Pick up Neva from high school
15.00 Preschool pickup (if required)
15.15 Collect three from Primary school
15.40 Collect Lochi from college.
16.00 All arrive home and two hours of chaos ensue, as we get homework done, chores, dinner cooked.
18.00 Approximate time for the children to eat their dinner
19.00-21.00 Asa has rugby training twice a week, Xene has rehearsals for Oklahoma at present, and as she doesn’t drive one of us has to take her and pick her up. Those two hours are spent occupying the children, with TV, puzzles, books, various games consoles, it’s a juggling act on it’s own and I am definitely considering a schedule!
21.30 All small ones hopefully are in bed, older ones are doing various activities quietly.
22.30 Asa and I finally sit down in peace to eat our dinner and watch a movie if its before 10.45 or an hour’s TV show that’s been recorded, if it’s after 11pm.
Between 12 and 1am Bedtime!
Obviously the weekends are not like that at all, and we try to at least go out one day at the weekend, but the rest of it is spent chilling!
This is now our norm, up until June of this year, Tyrus didn’t sleep at all, so I was usually up till 2/3am every night (well morning really) with him, which you can imagine did nothing for my beauty sleep and did resemble a zombie, added into that I used to work two full days per week, as a breastfeeding practitioner, thankfully things seem to be improving, and I am now working from home full time.
So, that’s our daily routine, how does it compare to yours ?
