#Blogtober16 Day 1 Who Are You ?

Hello and welcome to #Blogtober16, so glad that you could join us!

wedding dsc00915

So the first theme is Who Are You ?

Well, I suppose I could be very lazy and link to my About Us page, but that would be cheating and it is probably totally out of date!

So, instead I shall tell you just about me…

My name is Mandi Morrison (technically its Amanda, but it’s only my mum that calls me that!)

I am 40 years old, we celebrated with a trip to Disneyland Paris, no wild parties for me!

I have been with Asa for 20 years, 15 of those married (to each other), we have seven children, and yes they are all of ours together (you’d be surprised how often  get I get asked if they are all by the same father!)

I was born in Gillingham, Kent, I have one younger sister called Karen, who is a beauty therapist, we are completely chalk and cheese.

I have lived in Kent, Essex, Yorkshire, Surrey and now in wonderful Norfolk. We live in a little village, surrounded by horse fields (probably a good thing with seven noisy children!) and we currently have 23 chickens, at one point we did have 44 and I was beginning to turn into a crazy chicken lady.

I have a BA(Hons) in Childhood & Youth studies and I am co-owner in AJ Morrison Media with Asa (handy having the same initials)

I have had many jobs throughout my life, I was a papergirl, I worked in a supermarket stacking shelves or working on the till, when you had to actually type in the prices, no scanning in my day! My first ‘proper’ job was as a Children’s Entertainer at a Holiday park, so if you ever need pointers on the birdie song, agadoo, or flying purple people eater, i’m your girl!

I have worked on childrens playschemes, play areas, leisure centre receptionist, pre school leader and most recent,  two years as a Breastfeeding Practitioner which I totally adored but if you want to find out more about that check out my Time to Move On post with a fabulous boob cake!

I have been blogging for over five years, I started this blog when Tyrus was six weeks old, I also have a family Days Out and Travel Blog over at Big Family Little Adventures which Asa, Xene, Lochi and I contribute to.

When I was 13 I got hit by a car, I managed to completely destroy the yellow metro that hit me (sorry no posh car!) but sustained no broken bones and was up and out of hospital 5 days later to go on a school trip to France.

I was visited by the police when I was a teen, my crime – tipping a tin of black treacle over a very nasty girl who had been spreading vicious rumours about me and had given a friend of mine a black eye the week before, thankfully no charges were brought against me!

I have had a few pets, a guinea pig called Janie when I was little, Thumper the Rabbit, that I saved from going in my Uncle Fred’s cooking pot! Pickles a dwarf rabbit, a welsh pony named Taff, Snuffles the dog and Moonstone the rabbit, which was really the children’s until it came to cleaning the cage!

I met Asa whilst we were both working together at a leisure centre, it was very romantic, he was leaving for a new job in Surrey, after two weeks of being apart, I knew he was ‘the one’ so I quit my job and found a job as a nanny just up the road from where he was living, thankfully he felt the same and we moved back to Norfolk when I began my nurse training (oh yes, I am a half qualified nurse! – Did the 18 months core and then had our eldest Xene)

I think that’s enough waffling, it’s now over to you, link up below, and don’t forget to include the badge on your blog post so everyone knows where to go for #Blogtober16

Ahh, so lovely to get to know more about you!

P.S. I LOVE the start about being lazy and linking to the about me section. I never thought of that ?

I had three main thoughts on reading this:

    1) How cheeky are people to ask if your children all have the same father?!

    2) I think Disneyland is a pretty cool way to celebrate being 40.

    3) Remind me to not ever get on the wrong side of you; that treacle must have been a nightmare to get out of her hair!!

Thank you so much for hosting #Blogtober16!

Thank you for hosting Blogtober I think it is such a great idea! I’m going to really try and keep up. Your story about being hit by a car is incredible you are obviously made of strong stuff. I really want to have chickens. I was researching getting some when I found out I was expecting twins so I had to put my chicken owning plans on hold for a little while.

Aww what a lovely post, I’m now thinking that I have perhaps not written mine as the theme was intended. I have written about ‘who’ I am as opposed to who I have been growing up? Lol to the treacle over the bully! I HATE bullying with a passion so would have loved to have been a fly on the wall for that one 😉

Great to meet you Mandi and what a fab ideal! What a great family you have and you’re so lucky to have gone to Disneyland Paris for your 40th! I’d be lucky if I got a cake ha!
I’m just returning from a blogging break and think this is the best way to get back into it! Hoping (once the little one is better) to start creating some new blog posts shortly.
Thanks for creating this great linky! 😀
