#Afterschoolchefs – There are plenty of them in our house!

I can’t believe we have been back at school for an entire month, won’t be long until half term again!!

The children all LOVE school and college, and as soon as they walk through the door, the first words to come out of their mouths “I’m hungry, when’s dinner ?” even before they have told me about their day.

If you are a parent you will know the importance of ensuring the children get fed pretty quickly when they say they are hungry or they turn into ravenous beasts….

At the beginning of September I began a new job, which means that I don’t have as long in the kitchen as I used to.

Once the weather turns cold, I shall be turning to my favourite friend, the slow cooker, which is perfect for casseroles and stews, when its freezing outside, but at the moment it is just a little too warm to be thinking of soups and stews.

When we need a quick meal, that fits around football training, rugby matches, and every other after school activity that the seven of them can find, Birds Eye has the answer.

There is so much choice in the Birds Eye range, they can cater for every one of the children in approximately 20 minutes, meaning that the After School chaos is quickly solved by some Waffles and Chicken, or a sausage roll, or fish, the list is endless.

They especially love the individual bags of vegetables, last week Neva was feeling unwell and just wanted to eat vegetables (don’t ask me why, it is a trait she has picked up from Asa, who also eats a bowl of vegetables when he is feeling ill)

Another great thing about the Birds Eye range, is that it is very easy to cook, meaning that the three eldest children can lend a hand to make dinner or prepare themselves something if I am dealing with another child disaster – Tyrus flooding the bathroom or covering himself in toothpaste are the latest additions to the toddler repertoire….
